Ben Juday - Percussionist
Ben discovered his love for performing in the 5th grade when he
did a Howard Cosell impersonation for the school talent show. Since that
time he pursued acting in high school and college and in his early twenties
discovered his passion for music. He stopped acting to concentrate on
the bass guitar and played in several college bands. After college he
began to focus on the electric guitar and also learned to sing. For the
last 9 years he has continued to hone his singing and guitar playing skills and
is currently in the reggae-infused jam band known as
Fotamana. In
1999 he joined the Brazilian percussion group known as Sangue Bom.
|
It was while playing in this group that he became friends with
Chad Dunn which eventually led him to be invited to perform in Recycled
Rhythms. Ben's day job consists of repairing musical equipment and
restoring vintage electric guitar amplifiers and Hammond organs. He is
married, has three cats, and lives in Urbana, IL.

at a music store, when he was asked if he would like to mix a gig for a band
called Simply Vintage. Jeff continued to work for the band for four
years, mixing everything from small clubs to large festivals. At this
time, Jeff also got work from various other jazz and blues festivals in the
Chicagoland area. Upon finishing high school, he pursued formal education
in audio engineering at Columbia College Chicago. After taking time off
from the sound field to make rock 'n roll himself, and start a family, Jeff now
finds himself residing in Champaign, Illinois where he is a live sound engineer
once again. He was asked to join Recycled Rhythms in late 2005 after
mixing for the band Fotamana. (Ben Juday, Chad Dunn).
